Services
Infants/Toddlers+
Age range: 5–30 mo.
Each day, children are provided 2 healthy homemade hot meals (breakfast and lunch), plus 2 healthy snacks.
We encourage children to participate in daily activities that interest them. These include outdoor play, yoga, dance, arts & crafts and more. Our daily activities revolve around education, enrichment, and physical activity.
Activities & philosophies
A day of discovery
Every day is filled with adventure. We want to miss none of it. We are out there in our garden with the ladybugs, the finches and the flowers, learning about how this funny little thing called “Mother Earth” works.
Gardening
Discovery pupils will not only hone in on their gardening skills, but also get to taste their own harvests. From backyard to table, we love teaching healthy, sustainable habits early!
Language & literacy
Reading, writing, singing, talking. We want your child to be able to express themselves by any means necessary. The earlier we teach, the sooner they feel validation and strength. We love finding new books and songs that can take them new heights.
Holistic education
It is our goal to help all children in our program leave with an abundance of knowledge and early life tools. We strive to build confidence in every child that helps them persevere through their school age years. These early years are so important, and we want to gear you and your family towards success.
Nutrition
The preparation of our food is clean and healthy. We stay away from foods with excessive added sugars. We love organic foods and try to get as many fruits and veggies in as possible. When available we focus on utilization of seasonal local produce, and non-GMO ingredients.
Community & belonging
We are a team, or some would even say family. Everyone belongs, and everyone is so dearly cared for. Side-by-side we learn about, and from each other. We all have something to share. Therefore, every child enters the Discovery Hut to a warm embrace.

Offering part-time (3 full days a week T–TH).

(~$1790/mo.) All meals included.
Drop-offs/pick-ups can be anytime in between these hours, with coordination and respect to others’ nap schedules — happy to adjust.

Almost as small as a nanny share setup + some fun curriculum & a friend or two extra to learn communication, friendship, gain a sense of community, learning helpful skills like sharing & more as they transition from home to further realms of education and enrichment.
All meals are made by Ms. Liz and are organic, tasty and fresh. The cost is already included in your tuition’s flat rate, so no extra fees.

My name is Liz and I love helping little ones get excited about learning and the world at large!
Ms. Liz got her start in education by obtaining her A.S. in Early Childhood Education from Skyline College in San Bruno. While obtaining her degree she simultaneously worked as a teacher at NAEYC accredited CCLC Shores, via KinderCare in Redwood Shores, CA. She then went on to study at California State University East Bay where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, all the while being a nanny and babysitter for Bay Area families. She was born and raised in San Francisco and has always had a dream to have an in-home daycare to share her next echelon, holistic way of teaching. Now, in her home in Richmond, CA, she opens her doors to the community and welcomes any family who shares the same excitement about early childhood education.

Miss Liz is the epitome of supportive, and she has the family atmosphere that allows children and parents to feel right at home. This was particularly important to us because we were extremely nervous about sending our daughter to a day care. Liz took our daughter in with open arms and helped ease our fears. Best Family DC Ever!!! The owner Ms. Liz is currently taking care of 3 kiddos including Edward. She is doing such a good job! Edward receives organic food from her everyday, he learns so much about dancing, reading and painting… He’s always surrounded by music and other indoor/outdoor activities. Ms. Liz is super fun and patient, she’s both responsible and responsive. The Discovery Hut is a true gem. The director, Liz Graham, is an expert in all things related to childhood development and she has thought of every single detail associated with running her daycare smoothly. I can’t possibly describe all of reasons why I love Liz and The Discovery Hut, otherwise this review would be a thesis. Here are a few examples — she works hard to foster a playful environment, her activities always have some sort of element related to childhood development, she makes delicious food for the kids every day (I’ve been copying what she does at home), and she sends detailed updates (and pictures and videos!) throughout the day. Personally, Liz is super easy to communicate with. She is funny, kind, and loving. I feel so lucky that our son gets to hang with her every day!
